Ernest Robert “Flick” Flickinger, 87, passed away August 31, 2013 after a long battle with heart disease. He was born April 2, 1926 in Marceline, Missouri to Lilly Mae (Brammer) Flickinger and Fred Lee Flickinger whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by son, Jeff Hall; sisters, Roberta Lewis and Leona Yocom and brother, Elmer Flickinger. Survived by his wife of 39 years, Dyann; sons, Tim (Ginger) Flickinger, Mark Flickinger, Robin (Sharon) Hall and Kevin (Andrea) Hall; grandchildren, Jillian (Colin), Danielle, Miranda and Shelby; great-granddaughter, Bentley; daughter-in-law, Anita Wilbourn; “adopted son,” Arlie Wilbourn and sister-in-law, Letha Flickinger. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ernest served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the wire mill at C.F. & I. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church as well as being a life member of Elks Lodge #90, Eagles #145 and the American Legion. Funeral Service 1 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 at King of Kings Lutheran Church. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
