Daniel F. Martinez, age 79, passed away October 29th peacefully at his home in Pueblo, Colorado. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife Rose (Sais) Martinez. Daniel Martinez was born in La Junta, Colorado and was the son of Emma Peralta. He attended and graduated from East High School in Pueblo, Colorado. Dan served in the U.S. Army, worked for the Steel Mill and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Daniel Martinez was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and his love for Jehovah was admired by those who knew him. He had peace in his life as his health declined knowing that he would fall asleep in death and be in Jehovah’s memory with his loving wife. He will now wait for the day when “All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” John 5:28-29. Peace and comfort are found for those who loved Dan knowing that he longed for and eagerly anticipated the day when he would be resurrected and reunited with the love of his life. (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:26)
Dan loved to play pool and won many tournaments, it was a passion he took seriously, and no mercy was given to anyone who challenged him. He loved time with his family on boats, fishing, singing karaoke, watching football or simply enjoying a good meal together.
He was survived by his loving children: Bertha (Vince) Romero, Joe (Samantha) Salinas, Danny (Janine) Salazar, Daniel (Alison) Martinez, and Dennis (Holly) Martinez. Dan loved his many grandchildren: Dennis Jr., Danielle, Brittani, Rachelle, Malissa, Vince Jr. (Kayla), Devin, Jaden, Jaxson, and his great grandchildren: Kenai, Daisy, Bronx, Carter, Zane, Jasmine and Merida. Dan also shared a special bond with his siblings: Sandra Gutierrez, Hilario (Debbie) Alfonso, Rosanne Alfonso, Nettie Finn, Kenneth (Wanda) Peralta, Maryanne (Glenn)Mestas and Michael (Hazel)Peralta and a fondness for his many nieces and nephews.
In honor of Dan’s wishes there will be no funeral or memorial services. A gathering of family and friends will be planned at a future date.
