Corina Irinea Gutierrez

Corina Irinea Gallegos Gutierrez, 96 of Pueblo, Colorado was called home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2023. She was born in Ventanas, New Mexico to the union of Estevan and Sofia Gallegos on June 28, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents Estevan and Sofia Gallegos, husband, Jesus Gutierrez, son, Juan Leroy Gutierrez, daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Tony Canchola, grandson Claudio Baca, great-grandson Jacob Canchola, brothers Jose and Trinidad Gallegos, sisters Mela Garcia, Louisa Aragon, Rose Gutierrez, Rita Garza and Antonia Yara, Godchildren, Ernesto Gutierrez and Sylvia Larson. Survived by sons Leroy (Vangie) Gutierrez, Ray (Gloria) Gutierrez, daughters Margie (Richard) Carrillo, JoAnn (Dennis) Olguin, Shirley (Jim) Lobato, Julie Ramirez (Hamid), Sister, Lydia Cordova, special niece Connie Baca, grandchildren, Jason and Kimberly Gutierrez, Denise and John Carrillo, Cindy Romero, Danny Canchola, Maria Lee, Jason Aguirre, Aaron Gutierrez, David and Jessica Ramirez, and Clara Ybarra, 30 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, Godchildren, Alfonso Yara, Joyce Camacho, Doris Mares, Helen Gutierrez, Arturo Aragon, Carla Baca, Clara Ybarra, Priscilla Kilibarda and Maxine Lopez.

Our beautiful mom, grandma and friend will be fondly remembered for her love of God, family and friends. She had a generous heart and wanted to feed everyone who walked into her home. Mom had the best sense of humor and quick wit. We’ll always remember that sweet little laugh of hers.

We want to thank her angels in the form of caregivers, Connie, Gloria, Barbara, Yolanda, Bernadette and Rene for the gentle and loving care they gave our mama. We would also like to thank Center Care and Gentiva (formerly New Century) Hospice staff for their loving, compassionate care and support given to our mama and our family – Monica, Chaplain Patrick, Melanie, Jenae, Tina, Michelle, Teresita, Christi, Nicole, Chaplain Steve, Veronica and Alicia. Special thanks to granddaughters, Jessica and Roberta for their amazing love and care given to their grandma, James for bringing mom weekly communion, grandsons, David, Jason G. and Jason A. for getting their grandma’s house ready for her return home, Joe Ramirez for being a great neighbor and for watching over mom’s home.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy in song will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Leander’s Catholic Parish.
