Larry departed victoriously from this earthly life to his heavenly home on February 15, 2023. He was born in Emory, Georgia on June 8, 1945, to Clarence Emery Bennett II and Elizabeth Paine (Richards) Bennett. He was welcomed by his sister, Boots (Nelse Virginia). When he was 9 months old the family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where his heart still is. At 7 years of age they moved to Colorado, spending 2 years in Denver and then settling in Pueblo. Larry was a graduate of the Centennial class of 1963, and continued an active role of keeping the class together through the following years. On July 2, 1967, Larry was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Sandy (Sandra). To this union were born three children: Steve, Greg, and Gina.
He loved competition. He was a bowler, golfer, and had an extreme love for football. He once bowled a 278 and had a hole-in-one playing golf. He would never miss a Broncos game. Larry had a successful career in banking, excelling and mentoring many. With his wife, Sandy, he enjoyed traveling, reaching his goal of visiting all 50 states. He never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and many loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 55 wonderful years, Sandy and by his children: Steve (Michelle) Bennett , Greg (Misty) Bennett, and Gina (Paul) Reyes. Also by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy.
Funeral services will be held at Imperial Memorial Gardens in Pueblo at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2023. Burial will immediately follow.
