Warwick Thomas H. Roberts, II, 42, of Warwick, RI, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 13, 2012. He was the husband of Dawnette M. (Hauner) Roberts. Born in Providence, he was the son of former Attorney General Dennis J. Roberts II and Brenda (Bride) Wilkinson of Providence, and the stepson of John J. Wilkinson and Sherry Roberts. He is also survived by his sister, Jane E. Roberts of London, his stepsister, Joanne E. Wilkinson, M.D., of Melrose, MA, his uncle, Thomas H. Roberts and his wife, Lt. Governor Elizabeth H. Roberts, and his cousins, Kathleen and Nora Roberts.He was a graduate of Providence Country Day School, East Providence, RI, where he returned to teach for 14 years. At PCD he was the head football coach and also head coach of the twice Division II Championship girls lacrosse team. He also coached middle school sports and was the lead academic advisor and Chairman of the PCD Judicial Board. He taught Upper School Advanced Placement and Honors History, Middle School English and was the school's program coordinator for the Close-Up Foundation program.Following graduation from PCD and attendance at Northfield-Mount Hermon Academy, he attended Hobart College, Geneva, NY, where he played Varsity Football and was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity and graduated with a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature in 1993. He was enrolled in the Graduate School at Providence College where he was working toward a Masters Degree in History while completing his Secondary Teaching Certificate.He was the devoted father of three children, Liam Thomas Roberts (10), Shannon Marie Roberts (8) and Cian McCabe Roberts (6). He was always active in their respective sports teams, currently in the Saint Gregory the Great Parish (Warwick) Baseball and Softball League where he was also coach of his daughter's softball team and assisted with his sons' baseball teams. He was the Tiger Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 71, Cowesett.Tom will always be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, kindness, integrity and devotion to his family and students over the years. He was an inspiration to all and will be sorely missed by his wife and three wonderful successful children.His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Church, 67 Cole Avenue, Providence, on Tuesday, June 19, at 10:00 a.m., to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Monday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick.
