Roberto Augusto Giuliani

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Augustino Giuliani, born in the Abruzzo Region of Italy and Madelena Giuliani (Atella), born in the Rochetta-Molise Region of Italy. He was the husband of the late Colleen Giuliani (Terry) with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.

Robert graduated from Hope High School and the Rhode Island School of Design, and served in the United States Army with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis in the state of Washington for three years, receiving the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals.

He worked for the Rhode Island Department of Employment Security for 18 years as an illustrator and then continued his work within the field as a private commercial artist and illustrator. He enjoyed creating the lottery tickets for the state of Connecticut and producing illustrations of his family and many of his jazz musician friends.

Robert’s early ambitions included weight-lifting, running, and swimming. He was an avid golfer and musician, playing the drums and the trumpet. He enjoyed reading about history and listening to jazz music.

He is survived by four children: Steven Giuliani and wife Judith (Medeiros) of Lincoln, RI, Michael Giuliani and wife Cheryl (Casbarro) of Greenville, RI, Mark Giuliani and wife Lisa (Bonsignore) of Smithfield, RI, Gerald Giuliani and wife Jodie (Bryant) of Hope, RI; grandchildren: Steven and wife Marlaina (Genovese), Danielle, Michael and wife Ashley (Kuhar), Anthony and wife Grace (Asquith), Rachel, Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Luciana, Amya, Elliana; sibling: Frank Giuliani and wife Judy (Gervais). He is predeceased by one great-grandchild: Nikolas and one sibling: Nicholas Giuliani and wife Maria (DeOrchis).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
