North ProvidenceRobert E.Baxter, 76, of Belmore Road, died Wednesday at Elmhurst Extended Care Facility. He was the husband of Ann T. (Carroll) Baxter. Born in Providence, a son of the late William J. Baxter Sr. and Aileen M. (Prince) Baxter, he lived in Providence for many years before moving to North Providence fifty years ago. Mr. Baxter was the Manager of the Turks Head Club, Downtown Providence, for thirty years, retiring in 1995. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Baxter was a communicant of Saint Augustine Church. Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Charles H. Baxter; four sisters, Elizabeth A. Baxter, Ann M. Correira, Rita M. Andreozzi, and Rosemary DeLucia. He was a brother of the late William J. Baxter, Jr. The funeral and visitation will be held Friday, from 8:00 am to 9:15 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence.Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Augustine Church, 20 Old Road, Providence, RI 02908 in his memory will be appreciated.
