MESSIER, NICHOLAS W., age 22 of Warwick, passed away on January 4 , 2012. Born in Providence, he was the son of William and Claire (Turenne) Messier and brother of Holly Messier. He was also the grandson of William and Joan Messier and Cecile (Courtemanche) Paine, grandson of the late Walter Turenne and Frederick Paine. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Our dear Nicholas has left us much too soon, and our hearts are shattered by this tragedy. This is a loss that is incomprehensible. We will miss him always. Nick was fun and talented in all aspects of his life and was entrepreneurial, making "gopeds" from scratch. He was a nature lover and especially enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and snow shoeing in his younger years. He also enjoyed music, playing guitar and sports. As a student of Tollgate High School, he graduated from the CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) technical program. In fact, he won first place in the USA Skills Contest in Rhode Island and went on to compete nationally. Nick was inspired by his teacher, Mr. Ficarra. After high school, Nick attended CCRI. Nick had a big heart. He was genuine, and very loving, and he was protective of those he loved and cared about. We will continue to love him as we have always loved him, and will forever hold our memories of Nicholas close to our hearts. Visitation MONDAY from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on TUESDAY at 9:30 am in The RUSSELL J. BOYLE & SON Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., WARWICK Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts in his memory may be made to West Bay Community Action, 224 Buttonwoods Ave, Warwick RI 02886.
