She was the beloved wife of Robert Giuliano to whom she was happily married to for 54 years.
Born in North Providence, she was a daughter of the late Cesare and Gaetanina (Sigorelli) Giammarco.
Nancy worked at North Providence High School for many years before she left to raise her family. She then became a pre-school teacher at Early Years Pre-School where she was adored by her students as, “Miss Nancy.” Although she was never able to attend college, she was intelligent, informed and creative. She loved to read books about politics, biographies as well fiction. She was an amazing cook and had an unbelievable “green thumb”. Nancy spent her life devoted to her family and taking care of others. She had a kind heart and quiet, loving manner.
Nancy’s most prized treasures were her grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. They were her world and it is evident by the numerous photos displayed throughout her home. She cared for them from the day they were born until the day she left this world. They were so blessed to have had her in their lives. They will miss her dearly and will forever hold all their memories close in their hearts.
She was the loving mother of Jennifer Giuliano and much adored mother in-law to Jean-Paul Slaughter; cherished “Grammy” of Christian and Bradyn Slaughter; devoted sister of Frankie Giammarco and Dora DiLuciano, and the late Lena Baldassare, Ceasar, Alphonso, Leo, Daniel, and Augustine (Pups) Giammarco; and adored aunt of several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was also like a second mother to both her nieces Rhonda Trambowicz and Dina DiLuciano. And last, but not least, she was the doting grandma to her grand-dog Jasper.
Her death was very sudden and shocking to all who knew and loved her. Although she was in her years, she was the pillar of health. We take solace in the fact that she did not see or fear death coming. It took her quickly and hopefully peacefully. Her presence in everyone’s life will be sorely missed and we hope we will see her again someday.
Her visitation will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the RISPCA, www.rispca.org
