

WARWICKMichele (Mike) Guida, 88, passed away peacefully at Hebert Nursing Home on September 19, 2012. Married for 56 years, he was the devoted and beloved husband of Sarah (Giacchi) Guida, his Sarina. He proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army as a Heavy Mortar Crewman. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1945, he had a long and successful career in printing. He began his career as a pressman at Jay Printing, Inc., and retired as Vice President in 1980. After retiring from Jay Printing, Inc., he was the owner and President of Mac's Liquor Mart, in Smithfield, until the mid-1990's. During his career he garnered the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege to work with him. He never asked more of anyone than he would ask of himself.Besides his wife, he was cherished by his children, Susan and James Rao, of Cumberland; Steven and Dotty Guida, of Warwick; Robert and Wendy Guida, of Saunderstown,His legacy will live on through his adoring grandchildren, Michael and Jill Rao (great-grandson, Isaac James); Matthew Rao; Ryan and Evan Guida; Jason and Lauren Guida.Mike was the son of the late John and Jennie (Cherella) Guida, and brother of the late Esther Montanaro, Eda Canaan, Jennie Guida and Madeline Guida. He is survived by two brothers, Vincent and Richard Guida.Mike's funeral will be held on Monday, at 9:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rt. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Graveside burial with military honors will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
