Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Jean (LeVasseur) Maniscalco; his children Laura Davis and her husband Mike of Millis, MA, Paul L. Maniscalco and his wife Shirley of North Providence, RI and Steven M. Maniscalco and his wife Zhabrina of Johnston, RI.
He was “Poppy” to his four adoring granddaughters, Keira and Kelsey Davis and Camila and Elena Maniscalco and was looking forward to more. He also leaves his siblings, John and his wife Mary of Pembroke, MA, James and his wife Mary of Melbourne, FL and Marylou Donnelly and her husband Rich of Scottsdale, AZ.
The consummate good guy, Michael will be remembered by all for his willingness to lend a hand, cook a meal, show up to help anyone in need with no questions asked. His word was his bond in life and in business. He was well respected throughout his professional life.
Michael loved music, particularly jazz and drum and bugle corps. He was a proud past member of the Boston Crusaders drumline and went on to teach percussion with the 27th Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps. He loved teaching and coaching sports and found great joy in watching his children and grandchildren play sports and perform.
Trips to Italy, in particular to his favorite place on Earth, Pinzolo, in the Dolomite Mountains brought him great peace and pleasure.
Funeral services will be private, however, a musical celebration of his life will be held at a later date for all friends and family to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ron Savage Music Academy or the Dorcas International Institute of RI.
