Born in Magnolia, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jesse B. Williams Sr. and Lucille (Quinn) Romeo and stepdaughter of the late Joseph Romeo.
Mavis was the devoted mother of Daniel B. Forlasto, Steven P. Forlasto and his companion Kelley Snead, Michael Forlasto and his wife Catherine, and Lynne Forlasto; grandmother of 4; great grandmother of 4 and sister of Jesse B. Williams Jr. and Lena Belle Oliver.
Mavis married the love her life at the young age of 17 and was married for 65 years. She was very devoted to her family and had a deep faith, which she sustained throughout her life in good times and bad.
She worked in her younger years as a waitress at Knott’s Berry Farm Restaurant in California and also at Gladding’s Department Store. She later became an exceptional homemaker through the years of raising her children and caring for her entire family, which meant everything to her.
Mavis loved cooking, hosting holidays, reading a good novel, music and dancing. She treasured the many times she traveled the country with her beloved husband. She also had a deep love for animals and children. Mavis was loved and admired by many for her wisdom, kind heart, as well as her beauty, flair for fashion, and her contagious smile.
Her funeral and burial was private.
