Margaret M. (Hanley) Corrigan "Peggy", 71, of Blackstone Boulevard, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Miriam Hospital, in Providence, surrounded by her loving family, after being ill for the past year. She was the loving wife of John E. "Jack" Corrigan. They had been married for 45 years.Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Henry J., and Margaret (Egan) Hanley. She was raised in Pawtucket before living in Providence. Mrs. Corrigan had been a teacher in the Providence Public Schools and was a graduate of Elmhurst Academy. She attended Manhattanville College and graduated from Wheelock College and Rhode Island College. She was long active in, and former President of the Elmhurst Academy Alumnae Association.Peggy was a communicant of Saint Sebastian Church.Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sons, John E. Corrigan, Jr., Esq., of Providence, and Paul F. Corrigan, and his wife Barbara, of Santa Monica, CA; two beloved grandchildren, Grace Margaret Corrigan and Henry Paul Corrigan, of Santa Monica, CA; a brother, Henry J. Hanley, Jr., and his wife, Sheila, of Pawtucket; and a sister, Mary Irving Lee, and her husband Jonathan, of Newburyport, MA. She leaves brothers- and sisters-in-law, Francis V. Corrigan, and his wife, Carole, of Silver Spring, Maryland; Thomas J. Corrigan, and his wife, Arlene, of Rumford, James J. Corrigan, and his wife Anne, of Norfolk, Virginia: and Donald W. Corrigan, and his wife Eileen, of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Margaret's funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Saint Sebastian Church, 67 Cole Avenue, Providence. Graveside burial will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
