Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Carmela (Neri) Barone; wife of the late Phil A. Morris; cherished mother of David P. Morris, Patti Sokol and Karen G. Mollica; grandmother of Elizabeth Sokol and Samantha Keeney; great-grandmother of Michael, Faith and Kennedy; sister of Marguerite Danakas, Barbara Iannitti and the late James Barone, Gloria San Antonio and Amelia DiSano. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as her beloved cat Linny.
Lillian’s greatest joy in her life was her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eyes. Lillian was also known for cooking large family meals. The best were her meatballs and potato croquettes made with a pinch of this and a dash of that. Her door was always open to family, friends, neighbors and strangers. All were welcome.
The family wants to give thanks to Dr. Claude Younes, Rhode Island Hospital Critical Care Unit, Rhode Island Hospital Jane Brown Unit and HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center 3rd Floor for the special care provided.
Last, but certainly not least, to the wonderful LTTS home care provided by Home Health Care Services, especially Dayanara Peralta (CNA) who provided exceptional care to Lillian over the last 2 years.
Burial in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.
