Gregory T. Russo, 71, of North Kingstown and Dunedin, Florida, passed away peacefully after saying “I Love You to the moon and back” to his daughter on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at home after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie “Marge” (Maguire) Russo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony Russo and the late Evelyn (Gerace) Russo-DiDino. He was the devoted father of Lisa Russo-Petrucci and her husband Edward, with whom he resided. He was the cherished grandfather of the late grand-dog Chanel-Lee. He also leaves one godson, many cousins and several nieces and nephews.
He was the owner and operator of the Union Avenue Pub and was previously a superintendent for Van Dell Jewelry Co. for 30 years. He was an avid New York Yankees and New England Patriots fan, and his lifelong enjoyments were traveling, crossword puzzles and his various card leagues. He was also a member of United Commercial Travelers and the American Legion Post 119 in Largo, Florida. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence, followed by interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
