Gloria J. (Napolillo) Saritelli, 79, of Providence, R.I., passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Mary Jennie (Campopiano) Napolillo.
Gloria is survived by her son Kenneth A. Saritelli and his wife Theresa; her son Steven M. Saritelli and his wife Lisa; her daughter Julie M. (Saritelli) Carnett and her son Edmund J. Saritelli Jr. She leaves six grandchildren, Stephen Hathaway Jr. and his wife Jenna; Kerri (Hathaway) Ferrara and her husband John; Matthew Hathaway, Steven M. Saritelli Jr., Michael C. Saritelli and Javanna Karen Angelina Carnett; eight great-grandchildren and her Godchildren, Maria (DiGiovangiacomo) Corriveau and David DiConstanzo. Gloria’s lifelong friend Mary-Ann Jones, along with countless family and friends, whom she cherished.
Gloria was predeceased by her daughters Karen A. (Saritelli) Hathaway and Mary Grace Saritelli. Gloria was also predeceased by her siblings Carmine A. Napolillo, Angelina (Napolillo) Arrico, Ralph D. Napolillo Sr., John Napolillo Jr. and Janet A. (Napolillo) Romano.
Before retiring, Gloria was a nurse at Roger William General Hospital and Eleanor Slater Hospital. Gloria was a lifelong and active parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild. Gloria loved volunteering her time with the women of her church and in the taking care of others.
Gloria loved her home and opened her door to everyone. Gloria loved her family and friends at her home to share in holidays and birthdays. She loved gardening and planting flowers around her home and took special pride in her “Adopt-a-Spot” which she maintained for all the past and present residents of Murray Street.
We would like to thank Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care for their kind services. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Gloria’s caregivers Konya McKenzie and Kawaa Johnson for their exceptional care, compassion and kindness given to our mother during her final days. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Enza Conti, our mother’s lifelong friend, who attended to her final preparations.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4-7 PM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in St. Bartholomew Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence with burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
