Born in Grand Island, NY, Bill was the son of the late Patrick Edward and Agnes Charlotte (Kobel) Stack; he was the last surviving sibling of eleven children.
At the young age of 17, Bill left his family’s farm in upstate New York to enlist and serve our country as a Navy pilot during the Korean War. He was Assistant Administrator there for many years until his retirement. Always active, Bill continued with his accounting work up until the age of 80. He was also a devoted catholic and family man to his wife, 5 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill loved to play golf and played in different leagues over the years. He competed in the Rhode Island senior olympics and received several gold medals. Among his favorite pastimes was working in the garden with his beautiful wife. Bill was very committed to St Augustine’s church; and served as an Usher/Greeter/Collector and Lector. One of his favorite things to do was volunteer at his grandchildren's school. Having a strong sense of community, he always offered help to his neighbors, especially those in need. Loved by all he will be missed.
