Dennis A. Vecchiarino (ret. Battalion Chief PFD), 58, of Providence, RI and Port Charlotte, FL, peacefully passed away surrounded by his beloved family on Friday, November 12, 2021. Dennis was a son of the late Domenic and Shirley (Mello) Vecchiarino. He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years Dawn (Mulcahy) Vecchiarino and children Corey and Jessica Vecchiarino. He also leaves his cherished brothers Donald and companion JoAnn, David and wife Gail, and Daniel Vecchiarino. Along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dennis left an indelible mark on the lives of those whom he touched.
His quick wit and sense of humor always offered levity in stressful situations.
His generous nature was often evident as he was always there to provide love, support, and aid to family and friends in need. Indeed he was a kind soul.
He was a proud firefighter, his fellow firefighters were his brothers, his extended family.
Ultimately, it was his love of family that was at the core of his being.
The cookouts, Patriots game day parties, simply finding a way to assemble family and friends was his motivation.
Dennis will be sorely missed. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
We take solace knowing that he is now in a better place.
Visitation will be held Wednesday 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins St, Providence.
