David William Dugan, 56, of Saunderstown, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on March 28th, 2016. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 10th, 1959, he was the son of the late William G. Dugan Jr. and Barbara M. (Palmer) Dugan. He was a proud graduate of La Salle Academy '77, Providence College '81, and Suffolk University School of Law '84 where he was the executive director of the Transnational Law Review. David had a distinguished legal career in Rhode Island for more than 31 years in both the public and private sector serving for the last 18 years as senior legal counsel for the State of Rhode Island Office of Child Support Enforcement.He was an exceptionally kind and loving man with a generous spirit that he shared with all lucky enough to have crossed his path. David found the good in everyone that he met, and was blessed with the unusual capacity to treat everyone with dignity, compassion and respect. He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Barbara E. Grady, Esq, and two children, Ryan and Emily, who were the loves of his life. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his children to whom he was completely devoted. David also leaves behind his sister, Karen Spina and her husband Kevin, of Smithfield RI; his brother Richard Dugan and his wife Ann of North Providence, RI; and nine loved nieces and nephews who affectionately called him "Uncle yes".The funeral will be held Saturday, at 10:00 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Saint Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of this gentle soul during visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
