Catherine A. Gibbons

East Greenwich Catherine A. (Donahue) Gibbons, 92, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas in 2006. Born in Providence, Catherine was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (McMullen) Donahue. Catherine and Thomas were married in 1957 and made their home in Cranston for over 45 years. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Mark in Garden City and was actively involved in the parish community. In 2002 Catherine moved to East Greenwich where she and Thomas lived with their daughter and her family. Catherine was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.She is survived by her children, Thomas J. Gibbons, Jr. of Central Falls and Carol Hathaway (William) of East Greenwich, her beloved grandchildren, William, Alison, Brooke, and Emma Hathaway, and many nieces and nephews. Catherine was also predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and William Donahue.Catherine's funeral will be held on Friday, at 8:45, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 3rd Street, East Greenwich. Burial will follow in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday 3:00 - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906 would be most appreciated.
