Barbara Marie Hodnett

Barbara was the youngest daughter of the late Michael J. and Anna M. (McElroy) Hodnett. Barbara graduated from Classical High School, Pembroke College and received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Rhode Island. Barbara was a long tenured school teacher in both Providence and East Greenwich. She also taught in American Schools in Puerto Rico, Panama and Germany. Barbara was an avid golfer and a member of Wanumetonomy Golf and Country Club in Middletown. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Barbara is pre-deceased by her older sisters, Mary C. Hay and Jane A. Hodnett. She leaves two nephews, Robert Jr. and Michael Hay, and a niece Margaret Hay, as well as four grandnieces.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara on Saturday, February 24 at 10:00am in Saint Sebastian Church, 67 Cole Ave., Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 in her memory, would be appreciated.
