Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward M. and Anna M. (DeSilva) Corrie.
Barbara was a devout communicant of St. Patrick Church since 1973 where she dedicated and volunteered her time in the parish office and school. She was a member of the Secular Order of the Discalced Carmelites.
She previously worked as an executive secretary for Charles Kilvert at the Rhode Island State House, continued as an office manager for Circular Tool Co., and retired as a bookkeeper for New England Pest Control.
Barbara was the loving mother of Keith E. Wright and his partner Michael McGee; loving grandmother of Tahira, Aisha and Sidney; great-grandmother of Kashton; and sister of Betty Jean Hardy and her husband Francis, Edward Corrie, and Glenn Corrie and his wife Vilma. Barbara was the proud aunt of several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Arthur D. Wright, III and sister of the late Robert Corrie.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cancer charity of your choice.
