Ari, born on Thursday, January 13, 1966 in Bangkok, Thailand to Alan Shawn and Pratarnporn (Pat) Feinstein. He was the father of Louis Richard and Arielle (Ari) Feinstein, brother of the late Richard Justin Feinstein and Leila Jane Feinstein and brother in-law of Chaka Forman, grandson of Louis and Lillian Feinstein and Tiem Chiemwichit and Tipaya Niyomhet.
Growing up on Alhambra Circle in Edgewood, he started Lad and Lassie Pre-school at age 3, then Cranston Public Schools (Rhodes, Edgewood Highland, Park View Junior HS, Cranston East HS), completed his HS years at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. He graduated from Boston College with a BA degree. He lived and worked in Boston before opening the first clothing store “LEILA” named after his sister, at Coolidge Corner and later, the second store in the East Side of Providence. After the event of 9/11, he moved to Washington DC and worked at a BMW Dealership in Sterling, Virginia.
Ari suffered from a massive hemorrhage, due to a cyst in the spinal canal in August 2008. He underwent repeated surgeries at Georgetown University and subsequent numerous surgical procedures due to further complications. He returned to RI and lived in western Cranston in 2017. He lived with devastating limitations/disabilities with such unimaginable courage, loving and optimistic spirit, while enduring the constant physical/emotional pain, so that he could continue to be with his children and near his parents. He managed and scheduled his around-the-clock care, took care of maintaining their residence, (via Alexa) and spent quality time with his devoted children. He was the CEO for the Feinstein Foundation, where he specialized in investments.
He was admitted to the ICU, Kent County Hospital on Monday morning, November 1, and died on Monday evening, November 8 at 8:40 pm.
Ari was much loved by his relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins), friends and neighbors.
He adored his niece and 2 nephews, Chaya, Sakai and Desmond.
The loves of his life were his 2 children: Louis Richard, 18 and Arielle (Ari) 16, who lived with him, helped care for him and were by his bedside at the time of his death.
