Anthony Colella

Anthony Colella, 94, formerly of Providence, passed away June 8, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by his family in San Diego, CA. He was the beloved husband of Rose I. (Votta) Colella; son of the late Domenico and Annina (DePaolo) Colello; father of Nancy Colella and Anthony Colella and his wife Bonnie; grandfather of 5; great-grandfather of 6; and brother of Lucy Mauricio, and the late Carmine and Vincent Colello, Angelina DeMoia, Nancy Bonaminio, Mary Schramm and Anna Tudino .

Anthony lived in Providence until moving to San Diego in 2010. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He worked for the Railroad as a Car Inspector for 40 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Visitation and funeral will be held Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. from PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence followed by burial with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept.142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
