Born in Providence, Ann was the daughter of the late William H. McGurn Sr. and Hope A. (Seddon) McGurn. She was the wife of the late George M. Bagian (Lt. PFD) and companion to the late David M. DiFolco (Ret. PPD).
She is survived by her children, David M. Bagian (Lt. PFD) (Victoria) and Dawn M. (Bagian) Edwards (Christopher). Siblings, William H. McGurn Jr. (Ret. PPD) (Eileen), Colleen (McGurn) Simoneau (Butch), and Maryanne Brown (Robert). Grandchildren, Georgi-Ann Edwards, David M. Bagian Jr. and Daniel M. Bagian, her in-laws, Steven Bagian, Karen Esposito and Susan Bagian, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Sheila A. Scetta (Michael) and brothers, John F. “Jack” McGurn (Cheryl) and Donald J. McGurn.
Sugar began her career as an employee with the Providence Journal before owning and operating “The Smith Hill Tap”, a neighborhood pub, where good friends came to meet. She spent numerous hours beautifying her home where countless gatherings were held. Most notably her annual “Third” of July party as well as hosting weekly family dinner nights. Sugar gave more than one generation of children enough memories to last a lifetime. She selflessly dedicated her time and love to family and friends without hesitation.
Sugar strongly believed in Family, God, and her Country. Her family was her lifeline and her goal each day. She was a strong and independent woman who took no S#!T. Her children and grandchildren completed her. She firmly believed in laying the foundation for future generations.
