During Rosemary’s childhood her family moved around the Lower Mainland for work before finally settling down in New Westminster. Where she finished her school years. As a young adult Rosemary worked for Cherry Motors in Chilliwack where she met and married her 1st husband, Clifford Schweder in 1950. Then worked at CHWK radio station for a brief time.
With 3 young children in tow, Rosemary and Clifford moved to the Gang Ranch for a year where she had many fond memories. Soon after leaving the Gang Ranch, they moved back to Chilliwack where Rosemary found a career with the school district as a secretary at Chilliwack Junior High and a librarian at Sardis Senior Secondary, until her retirement in 1988.
In 1989, Rosemary and her 2nd husband, Pat Burns, moved to Prince George to be close to family. Rosemary’s love was her family. She never missed an opportunity to have a family gathering, play a game of crib, watch her grandkids sporting events or share stories with her family of her childhood. Her love, smiles and witty humor will be greatly missed.
Rosemary enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. She spent many days at the Hart Pioneer Center playing bingo, cards, carpet bowling and volunteering for many of the events. Rosemary was very involved with Sunshine Drive Occupational Centre and was a past society president in 70’s.
Rosemary is survived by her sons Rob Schweder and Ken Schweder (Heather); grandchildren Teresa Schweder, Jennifer (Eric) Sweet, Eric (Alyssa) Schweder, Lisa (Mike) da Costa, Tony Schweder, Andrea Schweder (Carson Tokarek) and Kevin Schweder; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters Margaret Hamilton and Elsie-May Lang; sister-in-law Irene Ellis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
