Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Cecil moved across Canada with his family in a converted school bus in 1963 to arrive in Prince George--where he stayed for the remainder of his life. In his youth, Cecil enjoyed his time in the Air Cadets which led to him obtaining a private pilot’s license. Cecil pursued a career in Forestry, attending the College of New Caledonia and University of British Columbia where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Forestry in 1978. Cecil went on to work at Lakeland Mills as a registered forester until his retirement in February 2020. Cecil and Dawn met in Singapore in 1995 and married in Dawn’s home country, England in 1996. Cecil and Dawn connected in their shared love of travelling, which continued throughout their time together. Cecil was passionate about history, cooking, the outdoors, and tending to his vegetable garden. He will be dearly remembered for his dedication to his family, witty sense of humour, and unwavering warmth and kindness.
