Sam Gregory Gibbons

Sam Gibbons, 76, of Deatsville, Alabama, passed away January 14, 2024. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 59 years this July, Mary (Jeannett) Gibbons, his daughter Amanda Hannon, son in-law John Hannon. He was fondly known as “paw paw” by his grandchildren Athena, John -Ryker, and MaryRae. His grandchildren were a joy in his life. Sam also leaves behind his Grandson Austin Gibbons and his wife Abbygale and their daughter Lilly. He was proud of all his grandchildren. He leaves behind a devoted sister Beth Gibbons and a host of nieces and nephews that he loves and they love him. Many brothers and sisters in Christ that he loved dearly.

Sam loved the Lord, he was a faithful and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by anyone and everyone that knew him. He was a faithful Christian and instilled the importance of having God in your life and that the love of family was important. He was a dreamer and he leaves us a heart full of memories that we will cherish the rest of our lives. His favorite thing to do was fish and if you knew him you’ve probably been on a fishing trip or two and have a great story to tell from it. He also loved his country He was a solider in US Army and he served his country bravely. He will be missed greatly and loved forever by his family and those who loved him.

A visitation for Sam will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout's-Brown-Service Prattville Chapel, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Owens Road Church of Christ, 1517 County Road 85, Prattville, AL 36067.
