Kessel, Patricia A.” Pat” , 69 , a Prattville resident, passed away Monday, May 17, 2009. Visitation will be held on Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with the Reverend Winston Brooks officiating. Mrs. Kessel was born on August 15, 1940, in Prattville to the late Eugene and Emogene Ott Tatum. She was retired from the State of Alabama after serving for many years as an administrative staffer. She enjoyed reading and loved her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Kessel was preceded in death by a son, Doug Kessel, who passed away last year. She is survived by her loving husband James D. Kessel, Sr. of Prattville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Matt McLendon of Prattville, Lori and Bob Driscoll of Wetumpka; two sisters Peggy Faye Poe of Las Vegas, Nevada and Nell Parker of Prattville; a brother Ernest Tatum of Leeds, Alabama, a daughter-in-law, Beverly Kessel of Prattville, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In lieu flowers memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society.
