Matthew lived in Prattville most of his life but also lived for a period of time in Wetumpka, Titus and spent a couple of years in Norwich, CT.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Samantha Martin and step father, Robert Martin; father, Michael Rickey Nelson and step mother, Kristie Sims Nelson; brother, Rickey L. Nelson (girlfriend Amanda Greer); step brothers, Sean and Chris Martin, Kevin Sims Jr; and step sisters Gabrielle and Jasmine Sims. Matthew is also survived by his grandmothers Janice H. Davies and Dorothy McMahan and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation for Matthew will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ridout's Prattville Chapel, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 PM.
