Bobby was born on June 22, 1948 in Montgomery. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1966 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Troy State University. He was married to the love of his life, Elissa, for 52 years. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Bobby served as a postal worker for over 40 years; he loved serving his community and visiting with friends on his postal route every day. Bobby loved all things sports, especially Alabama football. For most of his life, he enjoyed playing on his church softball teams.
Nothing brought Bobby more joy than his two grandchildren, Pryor and Elissa Byrd. Elissa and Bobby recently moved to the metro-Atlanta area to be closer to his daughter, Kimberly, and her family. Before their recent move, Elissa and Bobby were active members of First Baptist Church in Montgomery.
Bobby is survived by his wife—Elissa Kilpatrick, of Montgomery, their daughter—Kimberly Anderson, Kimberly’s husband—Joe Anderson, two grandchildren—Pryor and Elissa Byrd, and his siblings—Linda Clark (Danny), Gloria Knight (Bobby), Betty Friday (Jimmy), and Kenny Kilpatrick (Joy). He was preceded in death by his parents—Limon Kilpatrick and Dorothy Kilpatrick.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 5-7 pm at Leak Memory Chapel, and graveside service will be Friday, June 24, 2022 at 3 pm in the Serenity Gardens at Greenwood Cemetery.
