Robert "Bob" S. Hardy

Robert “Bob” S. Hardy age 81 of Colton, NY passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, August 2, 2024 at United Helpers Rehabilitation and Senior Care in Canton, NY, surrounded by family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Garner Funeral Home.

Bob was born January 2, 1943 in Malone, NY to the late John B. Hardy and Carolyn Patrick. In 1961, he graduated from Bayshore High School and later went on to attend Suffolk County Community College. Bob joined the family business A.S. Hardy Company, until his retirement.

Bob was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Potsdam and member of the local Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, tennis, and watching/discussing all sports especially from Detroit. He loved his dog Tony, she was always by his side.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Talcott and her husband Kevin of Potsdam, NY and Kathryn Hardy and her partner Aaron Chernenko of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Steve Hardy of Malone, NY; his half bothers John Hardy of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Tom Hardy of Massena, NY, and Dick Hardy of Utica, NY; his grandchildren, Cameron and Drew Talcott of Potsdam, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father and stepmother, John B. and Elizabeth Hardy; his mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Jerry Palter; a son and daughter in infancy; and a sister, Anne “Nan” Hardy.
