Dolores Isaman was born May 3, 1937 in Rochester, NY to Andrew Nalewalski and Veronica Makowiecki. She attended schools in Rochester, NY. On July 14, 1956 she was married to Mr. Arland "Ike" Isaman. Prior to her marriage she worked at Sibley’s Department store in Rochester, NY. While her children were in school she worked in the Honeoye Central School cafeteria. Later she worked at West’s Shurfine Grocery store in Honeoye and she also helped with home care for the elderly in her area for many years. Despite numerous attempts to retire, she kept being drawn back into the working world, including demonstrating products in various stores in the area. In 2000 she moved to the North Country but also kept her residence in Honeoye.
Dolores was a devoted friend and she gave selflessly through her roles as a Girl Scout leader, "head cheerleader" for the sports teams at HCS, cake baker extraordinaire, member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Honeoye, and helper at the annual Children's Bazaar in Honeoye.
Dolores and Ike were talented Polka dancers and ruthless Euchre players. They spent many summers enjoying the company of family and friends at Wescott Beach State Park and other locations around Henderson Harbor, NY. Dolores always had a bright smile and an open heart, and she never missed an opportunity to help others.
