Bill was born on May 6, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. He joined the Navy Reserves in 1960. After graduating from high school in 1961, he started active duty in the Navy and proudly served for 22 years as a Fire Controlman. Bill married his wife, Harol on October 16, 1964. His Navy career took him to many countries around the world and his family back and forth across the United States.
After retiring from the Navy in 1982 and returning to Portland, he earned a degree in Accounting and Computer Science from Portland State University and started working for the VA Hospital. When he retired in 2001, he took up photography and gem faceting. He was the church treasurer for his church for over 30 years.
Bill was addicted to Sudoku puzzles. He enjoying going to Creston Park almost every day to read and do his Sudoku puzzles. This was the park where he played with his brother and the neighborhood boys growing up. He enjoyed going on adventures as his passion for photography grew.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Edna and his brother, Phil. He leaves behind his wife, Harol and four children, John (Joanie), Jenniffer (Alan), Joel and Jamee (Sean) and 5 grandchildren and one great grandson.
