On Jan 15, 2012 at 91 years Ralph (Rosy) Rosenlund passed away much sooner than any of us expected. He is survived by a loving wife of 69 years, 3 adult children, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several “adopted” children and extended family. He joins his daughter, Blair, who preceded him in death.
Ralph lived a full life in every sense of the word. Having served in WWII in the United States Air Force he then went on to play saxophone with some of the great musicians of the big band swing era including Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey and Charlie Barnet. Successful at everything he turned his hand to and loving to find solutions, he triumphed in the insurance industry and in “retirement” he continued to work in the RV travel business for many years.
Ralph and his wife traveled to the far corners of the world together and easily collected a host of new friends everywhere they went.
We will always hold in our hearts and minds memories of a great man, a loving and devoted husband, a caring and wise father and a genuine friend always ready with a great smile, hearty and infectious laugh, a quick smile and a mischievous and knowing twinkle in his eye. We will miss you more than words can ever express.
Ralph's family would like to strongly emphasize that floral contributions are not necessary, but that the consideration is greatly appreciated.
Arrangements under the direction of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Portland, OR.
