Dear Ms. Rachel I miss seeing your beautiful smile as I would enter Living Hope.  The few times we met and gave each other a warm hug and embrace. What a good greeting it was. My Grandmother was one tough cookie. She didn't tolerate mischief. At the same time, she would give you all the love and support whenever you needed it. I took for granted that she would be here until the age of 102. I will miss her greatly but know that she doesn't have a care in this world any longer. Be at peace Granny and continue to laugh up there.

I remember going shopping with Camille and Rachel. She had such great taste in clothing. Rachel was always smiling and sweet spirited. I am glad that the last time I saw her, I was able to give back to her a little something, in reading the Psalms to her.  It seemed to invigorate and then calm her. She will be missed greatly. To her family, I offer love and prayers for their suffering such a loss, to be bearable. Arlie and I will miss her.

I am so sorry to hear about Lewer passing away.  I wish that I could do something to easy your feeling, but I can't.  God is the only one who can do that for all of us.  May God bless your family and keep you all.

It's only been about a month when I called Cousin Rachel to see how she was
doing.  I'm so glad I had chance to speak with her then.

I remember the good times my mom, Lillie, and I used to have when we visited with Cousin Rachel and her family when they lived in Chicago.
She was always smiling and seemed to
be enjoying life.

Please know that our prayers go out to the family and God will sustain you thru this time.

To Juanita Evans the children and other family members of Rachel Lewers, may memories of your love one be forever cherished in your hearts.  Praying God's strength for you all!

Miss Rachel always greeted me with warmth whenever I saw her.  I remember seeing her in her morning walks, and being inspired by her energy.  Miss Rachel, and her family are in my good thoughts.

Michael if my hug was strong enough to take away your pain, I would start now and never ever stop!!!

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother and praying that your faith will give you the strength in these testing times. It is not hard for me to imagine what you must be going through, for I have been there...  I'm so so, sorry for your loss.  Know that  I am thinking of you  and wishing you strength as you deal with your grief.

Aunt Rachel was always there when I needed her. She was a guiding force and a great example. I will always cherish the times we shared.

Rachel has been my neighbor for 3 1/2 yrs and when I say neighbor, I mean right by my home, sharing walls, floors, close doorways, etc @ our condo complex which we both bought when being built, so we were the first and only owners of our homes. We would help each other out as much as needed and it was a true pleasure to have such a kind, gentle, and soothing spirit of a woman, so close. She was a true joy to see on her everyday morning walks, hearing her play her movies while I walked up my stairs from work, etc, and checking the mail. I had the privilege of visiting her last Thursday evening (I am rarely home nowadays as I stay in Happy Valley quite often) and giving my condolences. She will be missed, but knowing that she is in a good place is a great peace of mind. Thank you, Leah Maree Miller

one thing that i will never forget about mother, that's what i have always called her , is how thoughtful she was. she always wanted to make sure i ate something. she would come to the salon and bring me fruit and a can of v8. i would work so hard during the day that on the days she came in that would be the only thing i would have to eat. i love her for that and i will never forget it.

A wonderful woman. Granny, the name she told my daughter and I to call her, touched me in the time I got to know her. She was good to both me and my daughter. I got to know her through Camille. She touched my soul. When I met her she had long retired as a nurse but all the care she gave to my daughter and I showed that was her calling. I will miss you Granny. My prayers go out to the family. I celebrate the opportunity to have gotten to know and love such a wonderful and caring person. God Bless You, Granny! You are going home.
