Philip Rene Henderson was born September 2, 1958 to Jack W. Henderson(1927-2010) and Elise (Blye) Henderson(1918-1991) in Portland Oregon. He attended Laurelhurst & Alameda grade schools, Grant High School ('76) and Lewis & Clark College. Phil was very athletic throughout his life, particularly in Baseball. He was an avid Vikings fan... majority of the time sporting the Purple & Gold colors in his everyday life.
In 1989 Phil was hired and worked as a mini-run (bus) operator for Tri-Met Transit. He was medically retired in 1996 due to the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. By 1998 he was bedridden because of MS. He never lost his spunk, sense of humor or will to live his best days with visits from family and friends at his foster home in North Portland, watching sports, having a cold beer & pizza.
Phil leaves to mourn his twin sisters Yvonne Henderson Rains & LaVonne Henderson both of Washington State, close friends Willie McCoy, Grant Hutchinson, Kim Czuba-Kaer(POA), and his caregiver for the past 9 years Merlita Mangalindan including her family. Along with a host of other family members & friends. He will truly be missed.
