Peter Alexander Luty

Pete was born on February 29th, 1964 to David and Nancy Luty in Portland, Oregon. After completing his education, Pete moved to Beaverton, Oregon where he resided until his death.

He began his career in 1990 at Planar Systems where he worked for 32 years. Pete was a mentor to many and acquired numerous awards for his work at Planar. Through his hard work, he ascended to the position of Director of Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality.

Pete was a phenomenal athlete with an infectious zeal for life, who strove to give his best always. He had a deep love of the outdoors and a passion for anything with a motor. He was an avid cyclist whose kryptonite was a fresh chocolate chip cookie. Pete’s life moto was “enjoy the ride” and he lived everyday pursuing that feeling.

Pete is survived by his wife, Christy Koga-Luty; his parents, David and Nancy Luty; his sister Shannon Lilja; his two children, Jonathan Luty and Jessen Luty; his nephew, Nicholas Lilja; his grandson, Finley Shearer; and the mother of his children, Deborah Jessen Luty.

Services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigard, OR on July 18th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, who provided Pete with excellent treatment and care.
