Patrick James Reynolds

Patrick James Reynolds was born on October 3, 1939 and died on October 9, 2024 in Portland Oregon at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Karen for 31 years, and the loving father to both Angela Reynolds-Whitlock (George) and deceased son Geoffrey Reynolds. He was the devoted stepfather to Lisa Smith (Brett), Julie Winkle and Stephanie Nolte; grandfather to Trinity Reynolds; step grandfather to Evan Bantin (Nicci) and Madison Bantin (Ryan); step great grandfather to Dash and Maddox Bantin.

Patrick graduated from Gonzaga University, received his masters from the University of Washington, and a Doctorate of Physiology from the University of Oregon Medical School (now OHSU). He was a professor for his entire professional career at OHSU in addition to publishing his research in scientific journals.

He had a special affinity for the great outdoors. He enjoyed numerous hunting and fishing excursions, family crabbing trips on Tillamook Bay, hiking, camping and backpacking in the wilderness, and golfing with his buddies. Traveling with family was particularly special for both Karen and Patrick.

He was a man of many talents, eager to help family and friends with special projects. You could often find him laying hardwood floors, building a deck, repairing plumbing or electrical issues, or designing a rock wall. He was especially skilled at restoring antique furniture for Karen’s collectibles business. Whatever the scenario, he showed up with his quick wit and irreverent sense of humor much to the delight of everyone.

Patrick is survived by seven siblings - brothers Mike Reynolds (Jan), Jerry Reynolds (Tammy), Doug Reynolds (Penny); sisters Ann Madigan, Kathleen Dahlman (Jim), Betty Reynolds, and Barbara Cather (Dave), and numerous extended family including nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Patrick at 11:00a.m. on Saturday October 26, 2024 at Finley Sunset Hills, 6801 SW Sunset Highway, Portland Oregon 97225, followed by a reception.

A memorial service for Patrick will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW SUNSET HWY, PORTLAND, OR 97225.
