In loving memory of Pat Schroeder born on Valentine's Day 1925 in Eugene, Oregon, to Priscilla and George Meisinger. She aspired to reach her 100th birthday but fell just short at 98 years and 10 months. It was a life well lived being part of the greatest generation.
In her formative years, Mom was an exceptional musician, contributing her accordion talents to her family's music studio and numerous social functions in Western Oregon. Her musical journey expanded to the global stage when she played in the USO during World War II, bringing joy and comfort to those in the South Pacific. She performed in 8 different locations like Guam and Saipan aboard aircraft carriers and various military bases.
After marrying Darrell Schroeder in 1946 she left her music career behind to raise a family. Along the way they lived in the Stimson Lumber Company’s logging camp east of Forest Grove. Being from the City, Mom would groan about the lack of running water and indoor plumbing when describing the camp. But she said it was full of good memories.
They eventually moved into the town of Forest Grove and had two children. The first being Julie in 1950 and Scott in 1954. Shortly after Scott’s birth, Darrell moved the family to Crescent City, California for the next 23 years. Mom made many wonderful lifelong friends while in Crescent City. In 1978 Darrell and Pat moved back to Oregon to the home outside of Hillsboro where she stayed until her passing.
All through these years she was a loyal and vocal Beaver Fan. She and Darrell traveled with other fans of which were to become very good friends as they attended numerous sporting events around the Beaver Nation.
She is survived by her daughter and son, Julie Reeves and Scott(Mary)Schroeder; Three Grandchildren Erin Schroeder(Joe), David Schroeder(Michelle) and Tyler Reeves; Four Great Grandchildren, Preston Day, Addy, Norah and Owen Schroeder.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. Followed by a 2:00 PM graveside service at Finley Sunset Hills Mortuary & Memorial Park. 6801 SW Sunset Highway, Portland, OR 97225.
