Naneen F. Froehlich passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2024. She was born in San Francisco, CA in 1944 to Rosella and Peter O’Toole. After graduating from George Washington High School, she became an X-Ray Technician. She moved to Portland, Oregon with her husband Walter in the mid 1970s and lived there until her death.
If only one word could be used to describe Naneen, it would be survivor. Despite many losses and health conditions throughout her life she persevered and did her best to enjoy it. She loved to travel, garden, explore nature, and spend time with her pets. Even through a multi-year battle with dementia she was able to enjoy life’s small moments until the very end; cuddling with her dog(s), going on walks and enjoying a good meal.
She is predeceased by her parents, Rosella O’Toole and Peter O’Toole; her brother, Daniel O’Toole; her husband, Dr. Walter Froehlich; and her significant other, Douglas. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy and Colleen; her sister and brother-in-law Jeneen and John; her nieces, Jennifer and Julie; and their children.
