Nancy Aileen Schindler was born march 21,1939 in Portland, Oregon. Her parents were Gertrude {Rhulin} Schindler and Paul Schindler Sr. While growing up, she lived on Ne Beech Street and attended Beaumont Middle School and then Grant High School where she met Margaret, one of her dearest friends, and longtime movie companion. She completed Beauty School right after High School.
She loved going to movies, and was very athletic; she loved tennis, skiing and especially golf. She used to sneak onto the Rose City golf course to play a few holes on her way to school. She worked briefly for Charles F. Berg, where she met her friend, Donna. Then went to work for British Motor Cars where she met her friend Phillis and also her future husband, George Pappas.
They were married in 1961, had twin girls in 1965, and lived in a little house on Scholls Ferry- eventually building and moving into a house in Aloha. George died in1972 and Nancy never remarried.
With guidance from her father in law, she opened her own produce stand and when that became too labor intensive, she and her partner opened a specialty printing company. she ran Raized Printing from 1981 - 1995. During these years she met and became good friends with Larry and Lowell.
After retiring, she moved to Claremont, a retirement/golfing community. She played golf, went shopping and enjoyed making many friends at her winter home in Palm Springs. She took many golfing trips from Hawaii to Jamaica - wagering with anyone to make the 'impossible shots'. - She volunteered her time as an airport host in Palm Springs and as a patient visitor at Providence Hospital.
Nancy had a great sense of humor, loved to travel to warm places and spend time with friends. She was very proud of her two daughters, Susan and Michelle; and her grandchildren, Emma and Max, always made her smile. She was a great business woman with a keen intuition for investment. She always lived life fully, and was generous and spontaneous with a flair for the dramatic.
Nancy surrounded herself with bright colors and joyful people and she left the world peacefully on Sunday March 13, 2011. We will miss her everyday.
