Mervin “Merv” Peters was born February 7, 1930, in Iron Mountain, Michigan. In 1932 the family moved to Portland, Oregon where Merv would remain throughout his life. As a young man, Merv began working at Fred Meyer where he remained for 21 years. During that time, he met and married his love, Sharon in 1964. After returning to college and earning his Master of Education degree, Merv began his administrative career in the Reynolds School District where he served as principal for another 28 years. Merv had many interests that included traveling with family and friends, gardening, and being a devoted follower of his Christian faith.
Merv loved his family and found that being a husband, father and grandfather were the highlights of his life. Merv is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon; his daughters, Susan (Duane) Korst and Stefanie (Rick) Narhi; grandchildren Krista (Mark) Stevens, Stockton Korst, Preston Korst, and Joseph Baker.
