Mary Jean Freeman, age 88, passed into eternal life October 10, 2010 at Hopewell House, where she spent her final days surrounded by her family. Mary Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who touched so many lives with her caring and generous spirit.
She was born November 8, 1921 in Omaha, Nebraska. The daughter of Joseph and Marie Hudecek, she was the youngest of three children. Her brother, Bob, survives her.
Mary Jean was married to Jack in June 1944. Jack preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Mawdsley, and by her sons Jim and Tim, and their spouses, Susie and Jeanne. Other surviving family includes 7 grandchildren, 8 great and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mary Jean was an avid bridge player and loved to entertain.
A rosary service is planned for Sunday October 17th at 4:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Oswego. Her funeral will take place at Our Lady on Monday Oct. 18th at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hopewell House Hospice Center in care of Legacy Health System.
