Luella was educated in Nebraska. She married Harlan Dunafon on June 1, 1947 in Nebraska, and all four of their children were born there. In 1961, the family moved to Portland. She worked for many years presenting painting and crafting products, for Artex and then with Tri-Chem. Among those products were paints that could be applied to pillowcases, tablecloths, and similar items. The company was structured similar to the Tupperware model, and Luella loved being instrumental in providing a creative outlet and social opportunity for many women with her work. She traveled all over the Northwest and earned many accolades for her achievements and sales accomplishments, working into her 70s.
Mrs. Dunafon was preceded in death by her husband Harlan in 1999, their son Charles Dunafon, a sister, Rozella, and a grandson, Joel Dunafon.
She will be missed by
three children, Jane Dunafon, Leland Dunafon, and Rodney Dunafon, and by
eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 12 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland. She will be laid to rest beside Harlan in a private ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery.
