Lawrence Allen Kissinger (Larry) was born on July 25, 1926 in Delta Colorado. His parents were Neland and Sarah Kissinger. Larry was one of seven siblings, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, one of whom is still living.
He served in the U.S Airforce near the close of WWII and was thrilled to attend an Honor Flight to Washington DC with his son Charlie in 2014. Larry worked as an aeronautical engineer at Cessna in Wichita Kansas then Boeing in Portland Oregon and eventually Boeing in Renton Washington where he retired in 1988. He was Supervisor of Liason Engineering. In his career Larry was known for his even-tempered and thoughtful problem-solving skills.
Faith and family were the center of Larry’s life. Larry and Mary Kissinger were married in December of 1945. Their love story lasted for just a few weeks short of 75 years. He was a dedicated and active member of the Gresham United Methodist Church. Larry chaired the Building Committee when the Church added a new addition in the early 1980’s.
Larry and Mary filled their retirement years with rock- hounding and volunteer work, including 63 NOMADS Projects and Habitat for Humanity. Larry and Mary have 3 children: Charlie (partner Marcia), Katie and Paul (partner Lori); 10 grandchildren- Josh, Sarah K., Joe, Sara Lou, Justin, Trusta, Mandy, Laura, Ryan and Cory; and 17 great grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife Mary, his youngest sister, Carol Kassahn, and all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
