Larry was born in Portland to Clyde and Edna Barnhart. He was raised at the family home on 130th which they moved into when he was 6 months old. He passed away peacefully at that very same home with his family at his side.
He is preceded by his parents Clyde and Edna Barnhart. He is survived by his sister Marge Carpenter - Milwaukie; his brother Bob Barnhart - Portland: his children, daughter, Trina Shew (Richard) - Eagle Creek; daughter Keli - Portland; son Brian - Portland; six grandsons - David, Kevin, Ethan, Carter, Cody, and Riley; his four dogs and kitty; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; whole lot of great, great friends!
Larry had many interests but the last few years he especially enjoyed working at Glendoveer Golf Course as a starter; delivering flowers for Portland FlowerShop; of course he made an art form of collecting and recycling cans!
He was given the nickname of "THE WIZARD" as he always had an opinion or an answer for anything you might need to know!
We especially want to thank all the great people and resources provided by Hospice. They were absolutely amazing! A special thanks to our Hospice nurse AnJanette who was with us when Larry was in care and when he passed, which was ever so helpful and comforting.
There will be a celebration of life at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2310 S.E. 148th, Portland on August 15, 2022 at 1PM. A private internment will follow.
