Kathryn Righter

A funeral service will be held for Kathryn Righter 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home who passed away on July 15, 2011 in Portland, Oregon at age75. She was born on September 10, 1935 in Morris County, Dover, New Jersey to John and Martha (Miller) Polwin. Kathryn graduated from Roxbury High School in 1953. She married William O. Righter and in the early 1970’s they moved to Portland, Oregon to be closer to William’s family. They were married for 30 years and in 2002 he preceded her in death. Kathryn was a manger for Windermere Apartments in Cedar Mills for 30 years and very much enjoyed her work. She also worked for Regency Park Assisted Living for four years before retiring. Kathryn was very much a people person and enjoyed the many friends she met at Sunset Bingo, she also loved her family and spending time with them. Kathryn was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mentor and friend. She was everything to her family. Words cannot describe the many things she did for everyone she held dear to her and she will be missed very much. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and a brother, Raymond Polwin. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Schultz of Portland; sons, Thomas Casey of Hillsboro and Kevin Casey of Portland; and sisters, Lois Henderson of Plattsburgh, New York and Elaine Clawson of Portland, OR; five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
