Joy was born on a farm near Haines, Oregon on April 19, 1933; to Joseph Lethlean and Effie Davidson. She married Willis (Bill) Miller in 1949, Baker City, Oregon.
Joy's community involvements included; Vice President of James John PTA from 1960 to 1969 and President from1966 to1967; Roosevelt High PTA Vice President in1969; Campfire Girls Club Scout Den Mother, 1962 to1976; and sponsored the Rimfire Jr. Rifle Club.
She entertained many by playing piano and keyboards at various venues in the Portland area including; grade school students, The Oregon State Fair and many retirements and nursing homes.
Joy passed away on February 15, 2011 at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital in Clackamas, Oregon surrounded by family and friends.
