Jackie Cooper passed away unexpectedly at the age of 56. Jackie was born in Eureka, California to Myrtle (Myrt) Jean Cooper and Jess (Jack) Arthur Cooper on September 6, 1966. He grew up in Vancouver, Washington and graduated from Columbia River High School class of 1984, where he was on the State Champion varsity baseball team. He loved playing baseball and basketball whenever he got the chance. He was an avid Seattle Mariners fan and also enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers. Jackie was a loving father to Amanda, and a proud grandpa to his four grandchildren. It didn’t matter what he was going through in his life, he was always very supportive of Amanda, and loved spending time with his grandkids. Although he wasn’t always able to be present, he never forgot a birthday or holiday. He treasured every visit and every phone call. We are so grateful he was able to celebrate Amanda and Kurtis’ wedding last October. After his father passed away, Jackie moved to the family property at Mason Lake to help care for his mom. Jackie and Myrt had many great years there. He loved living at the lake, maintaining the property and taking care of his animals. It gave him a real sense of purpose. Leaving the lake was very hard on him and he missed it everyday. No matter how hard or painful things got, he tried not to complain. He never wanted anyone to worry about him. Jackie faced many struggles in his life and we are so grateful to all of our family and friends that were there to help, and support him when he needed it. Jackie is survived by his daughter Amanda (Kurtis) Moore, his four grandchildren, Ryan, Kadyn, Kylee and Mason, and two sisters, Jeannie (Brian) Palmer and Suzanne (Greg) Weisser. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents Myrt and Jack, and sister Joni. There will be no service at this time. Donations can be made in his name to Council for the Homeless or the Humane Society of Southwest Washington.
